Meet the Masters
Thursdays in November (11/3, 11/10, 11/17), 4:30–5:30
Teaching artist Renée Malowitz will be offering a Meet the Masters Series on Thursdays, November 3 through November 17 at the Hubbardston Public Library from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. The program is free. Those interested are asked to call the Library at 978-928-4775 to register.
This series for children ages 5 to 14 will introduce participants to familiar works of 3 popular master artists: Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh and Georgia O'Keefe. Each 1-hour session will focus on viewing the artist's work and creating original works in the same style using watercolor, oil pastel, pastel and acrylic paints on paper. This program will allow participants to learn more about popular works by famous artists as well as explore the process these artists utilized in a hands-on manner. It is hoped this program will give participants a better understanding and familiarity with the work and processes of the artists.
Ms. Malowitz has been creating art with children for many years and has been a teaching artist for over 30 years including a classroom instructor, freelance artist, business owner, theater designer/artist and consultant. Ms. Malowitz also sketches and paints.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Hubbardston Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
